Jota Designs was born in 1997 by world-travelled principal industrial designers Joe and Tania Palazzolo.
With a strong eye for aesthetic quality and attention to detail, Joe and Tania carefully weave the design principles of form, function, space, balance, style, texture and colour into timeless, dynamic, artful spaces that are full of imagination, expression, and life.
Each project is inspired by a strong sense of shared vision and collaboration — to create unique spaces that truly reflect the needs, lifestyle and personality of the client.
Providing custom design services for residential projects throughout Ottawa and the surrounding area, the award-winning, full-service design firm is distinguished by it signature cultural sensibility, passion for design, creative expression, personal approach, and use of quality finishes and innovative materials.
Jota Designs supports sustainable building materials and practices, and endeavours to
use eco-friendly products where possible.
About Joe & Tania
After graduating from OCAD University in 1994, Joe and Tania continued their education with field studies around the world. They enriched their experience with a hands on edification of art, culture and design travelling through England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Mexico, Central America, Peru, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, India, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Israel, Turkey and the United States.
In addition to degrees in Industrial Design, Joe studied Mechanical Engineering at Carleton University and Tania holds a BA from the University of Toronto and a Diploma of Fine Arts in Art & Art History from Sheridan College.
As consummate professionals with extensive design and project management services, Joe and Tania often give back to the industry by conducting training seminars and providing mentorship to up-and-coming design professionals through a variety of industry affiliations and partnerships.
